Thanks Sarah for reading, and the note. Even though it was specifically about Abraham’s powder horn, any ancestor who fought in the RevWar (or other wars during those times) or who hunted would have likely had a similar horn, although maybe not as beautiful.

Rich and I were pretty amazed that the Remsen horn would be of interest to me too. At least there is a clear trail there. I will have future posts about Henry Horn’s horn, even though it is now attributed to Henry Thorne. If you do see those pictures on Ancestry, you can comment and let folks know it may not be ‘our’ Henry’s, and you can link to the page on Rich’s website, http://americanpowderhorns.com/?p=1645. I will try to do that too. Hard to always keep things updated as new info comes along.

It is interesting that there is a horn that also was attributed to our shared ancestor, Henry Horn. I keep running across it on Ancestry but I think the author of the site you referenced has now attributed it to Henry Horn and not Henry Thorn. I haven’t really dug into the how or why that happened. Too many other threads from the past to unravel!
