Sylvia- Thanks so much for the update! I am so thrilled that the certificate is now in its rightful home. Something compelled me to buy it back in Missouri so many years ago, and I am grateful that I held on to it and that you all found the blog. This just makes my heart happy- enjoy!

My grandmother was Willie Nell Wheeler who married David Iley Neal. My mother was named after her Aunt Chrystal and is still living at 87 years of age. I appreciate the research you have done. The name Achsah, William’s mother, explains why one of William’s and Nellie’s daughters (who died when she was a young child) had that unusual name which my mother has always pronounced “Acksie”. Her death was a major reason why they moved from Ohio to Montgomery, Alabama. Nellie blamed the illness that killed her young daughter on the extremely cold winters in Ohio and wanted to live somewhere warm. I knew the general story of my great-grandfather’s death, but the details you provide are new information to me. Thank you so much for all the research you have done. Oh, by the way, it was Chrystal who was married to Herbert Kuester and Elizabeth was married to S. D. Connor. Also, that is a C. on Nellie’s gravestone which stands for Call; it is not a G. Her middle name was Alberta.
