Thanks Mitch- great info. That’s the type of family history that can’t be found in books.

We know that at least 2 of John & Gitel’s sons were living in STL with family sometime between 1899-1900, and possibly Philip Broida was there too. I cannot find any record of where Philip was at this time, but there is a picture of him with John and the two younger boys who were living in STL, so am wondering if Philip was there too and just missed in the census, or if he traveled with his father to see the other boys.

I am not sure when they began planning the 1904 World’s Fair, but am sure that with the Broidas there by at least 1899-1900, they had time to capitalize on the potential income the fair brought. Wonder if, as dry goods jobbers, they supplied some of the fair articles?
