Hi Kate-
I will let the current owners answer these questions for you.

Do you know any history of your mortar & pestle? Anything about the person you inherited from, or their parents?

And how did you find our blog with this post? Are you family?

I’m trying to do some online research for my brass mortar and pestle that I inherited. Mine looks almost identical to the one in the photos. Is there an artisan’s signature or mark on it? Is the inside rounded or flat? I’m trying to get a round about date for mine to continue research. Thanks in advance! Please feel free to email me!

Kate
