Welcome!
“Heritage Ramblings” are the interesting people, places, events, and topics we have found on our journey climbing our family tree.
We hope this blog is a good way to share our family stories with those far and near, and a way to get all the generations to know, talk about, and understand their rich heritage. Genealogy is so much more than just names and dates- it’s the stories that help us all connect through time.
Of course, we also hope this blog will be “cousin bait”! If you are related to these families, we would really love to hear from you and share even more information than possible to include on the blog. Use our “Contact Us” button to send us an email.
Please check back frequently to see our latest posts, or sign up using the subscribe box on the right. We don’t know how frequently we will be posting, as each time one starts to write a story, it seems there is more to research to fill in the holes. Hopefully, though, we can stop researching and tell the stories on a regular basis!
We hope to share the heritage stories of the following families:
Aiken
Alexander
Beerbower
Benjamin
Brandenburger
Broida
Cooper
Daniel(s)
Goodson
Green
Lee
Helbling
Honts/Honce/Johns
Murrell
Roberts
Payne
Seitz/Sitze/Sitzes
Springsteen
Underwood
Whitener/Widener
and of course, all sorts of creative spelling variations of these names!

Welcome to Geneabloggers! I just came across your blog. I was pulled in by the surname Murrell. Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks, Andrea. I have more Murrell info coming up in a week or so.
I took a look at your blog- very nice! We’ll have to see if there are any Murrell connections between our families.
Wow! I love it.
Glad you like our blog. Thank YOU for so much help with the Murrell and Roberts families- your persistence really has paid off with much new information found. So happy we found each other, Cousin!
Hi. I found your site through Geneabloggers, and I’m glad I did. Welcome. It’s chock full of information. I’ll be visiting often.
Warm regards,

Love the Jasper County farms image! Super! My wife’s family passed through in late 1800s, as did many others! Small world.
Welcome to the GeneaBloggers family. Hope you find the association fruitful; I sure do. I have found it most stimulating, especially some of the Daily Themes.
May you keep sharing your ancestor stories!

I love that farm image too. It is amazing that 2 of the barns still stand after 100+ years, though they are in decline and need some TLC.
Thank you for looking at our blog!
